Denitsa graduated from the Master’s program in Speech-Language Pathology at Sofia University, Bulgaria. She has since worked with preschool and school-aged children with a wide range of communication difficulties – speech, language, voice, social communication, and fluency, as well as medically complex populations and children who require augmentative and alternative communication systems.
She has completed a number of continuing education courses including:

  • “It Takes Two To Talk” – The Hanen Program for Children with Language Delays
  • “ABC and Beyond” – The Hanen Program for Building Emergent Literacy
  • PECS – Picture Exchange Communication System for nonverbal and minimally verbal children
  • PROMPT – Prompts for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets
  • Kaufman – The Kaufman Speech to Language Protocol for Children with Apraxia of Speech
  • Lidcombe – Stuttering Treatment Program for Young Children

Denitsa has a special interest in ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorders) and has attended workshops by Michelle Garcia Winner and her Social Thinking approach, Stanley Greenspan’s DIR/Floortime, and “More Than Words” (The Hanen Program for Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder).

Denitsa is a registered member of CASLPO (College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists), OSLA (The Ontario Association of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologist), and SAC (Speech-Language & Audiology Canada). She is bilingual and provides services in English and Bulgarian.
